Parish Meeting

Sunday, Nov. 21st, during the 10:30 a.m. service

Please RSVP on the signup sheets found in the narthex and in the Parish Hall. Deadline to sign up is Nov. 15th.

We will elect:
3 new vestry members for 3-year terms
1 new vestry member for a 1-year term
4 deputies for the 2022 Diocesan Convention to be held next October.

Why should you be on the vestry? What is it?
“The vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. The presiding officer of the vestry is the rector. There are usually two wardens. The senior warden leads the parish between rectors and is a support person for the rector. The junior warden often has responsibility for church property and buildings. A treasurer and a clerk are also chosen.

The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances.” “An Episcopal Dictionary of the Church, A User Friendly Reference for Episcopalians,” Don S. What would I do on the vestry?
This is an exciting time in the church. We are:
-asking where we can Be The Church in our community
-planning for the future of the church building and our parking
-looking at pastoral care and how we can take care of each other
-planning for our financial future with the operating budget, Sutterfield Trust, and possible capital campaign
-increasing our holy time in the church through worship and music
-visioning, looking forward, and seeing vitality and growth!
